I became interested in the chevalet after discovering that I could not achieve the results that I wanted using “modern technology” power tools (ie: a scrollsaw).
I built my first in 2011 from four photos I had found online and even without the subsequent modifications I have made it was undeniable that this tool was going to have a profound effect on my ability to create marquetry. I have passed it along now but I produced some of my best work with it.
